Project: BlackStrap Park Crew Rebrand Client: BlackStrap Industries Role: Graphic Artist & Branding Developer Year: 2022 About: In 2022, I was tasked with rebranding the BlackStrap Park Crew Program, which supports ski resort terrain park crews responsible for maintaining and shaping terrain park features. My role encompassed both designing and developing a cohesive brand identity, including a bold new logo, team apparel graphics, and a distinct visual aesthetic tailored to resonate with this core audience. A key highlight of the rebrand was the creation of the Grim Raker, a character designed as a playful nod to the rakes used by park crews. Drawing inspiration from 80s horror movie posters and comic book inking techniques, I hand-drew the character and logo, then vectorized them to ensure high-quality production for apparel, stickers, and promotional materials. The branding was designed to capture the gritty, creative energy of terrain park crews while remaining functional and visually striking. The rebrand was widely embraced by park crews across the US and Canada, solidifying its relevance within the core ski and snowboard community. This project demonstrates my ability to blend illustration, branding development, and cultural insight to create impactful and memorable designs.
